Recode is reporting that games are likely to be available for free to players on iOS and Android this year, with the biggest titles coming to Android.
We’ve seen games like Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Battlefield 4, and Destiny: Rise of Iron all launch for free this year.
There are some other titles that are not coming out for free like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Halo Wars 2.
The biggest free-to-play games to date are Star Wars Battlefront II, Destiny 2, FIFA 15, and Madden NFL 16.

The free-play genre is growing, with Battlefields 2 coming out this year for free and Starcraft II coming in 2018.
Horde War 2, Battlefield 4, and Destiny 2 were also free to download this year with Battlefield 4 coming out this summer.
StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm was also free this week, but the game is still only available in China.
It’s not clear if free- for-all titles will also include free DLC, as Star War Battlefront 2 has no DLC at launch, but Battlepoint 2: The Battle for Endor was also released for Free.
Destruction Derby 2 is also free, but there are no plans to add it to the game.
Battle of the Bastion and Destinys Skylines was also announced to be coming out free this weekend.
I Am Alive, which is a game developed by Activision and published by developer Red Storm Entertainment, will also be free this coming weekend.
Other free- to-play titles include Battlezone: Defenders, Fallout 4: Survival Edition, Mass Effect Andromeda: The Normandy SRP, Puzzle & Dragons: Legends of Mystara, Super Mario Odyssey, Risen 3: Titan Lords, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel.
These free-content titles come with a handful of DLC for a price.
What’s in store for free-based games in 2018The free-form games in 2017 have included Fallouts 4: A New Hope, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Grand Theft Auto V, Minecraft: PC Edition, and more.
You can also play games like Minecraft, Star Trek Online: Alpha, SimCity, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Watch Dogs, Gears of War, Pokemon Sun and Moon, NBA Live 18, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Assassin’s Creed Origins, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Destined: Odyssey and more.
